The Transfer Connection
Greetings,
Spring is definitely here! I hope you are enjoying the sunshine and warm temperatures and that the early blooms do not have you sneezing.
Less than 2 weeks to finals! April means we are rushing headlong toward project completion dates, exams and final grades. As you check off papers and exams completed, consider your related goals. Have you begun to establish a relationship with at least one faculty member? Have you discussed your plans and goals with your academic adviser or faculty mentor? Have you registered for summer and/or fall classes?
Reviewing for Final Exams. Here are three tips:
Review for several short periods rather than one long period.
Try to predict examination questions and outline your answers. Swap questions with your study group or classmates.
If flashcards are too low tech, record unfamiliar terms and definitions and upload them to your music player for review.

As you think about summer courses, especially if you plan to take a course at another institution, use the Transfer Course Equivalency List http://admissions.unl.edu/tequiv/. You can see if a course at another college has been evaluated by UNL faculty. If you wish to take a course that has not already been evaluated, you still have time to get it approved before you leave campus. Contact me for details. Don't forget resources at http://transition.unl.edu - created by transfer students for transfer students.
Equivalent courses at UNL, UNO, and UNK. A great new tool for students who have taken or are considering taking a course at either UNO or UNK is CourseFinder. It is located at https://coursefinder.nebraska.edu/. A course at either campus which is a direct equivalent of a UNL course can be used to remove a "D"" or "F" grade just like repeating the course at UNL. It may be more convenient for you to take a summer course at one of the other campuses. CourseFinder can help you locate equivalents. You can also use the tabs to search for a department (math or music), for a specific course (MATH 106), or for a key word (finance).
Complete the Intercampus Application to take a course at another University of Nebraska campus. http://admissions.unl.edu/apply/intercampus.php. There is no additional application fee.
