The Transfer Connection

Greetings,

January is a time for many to organize. Each person will have their own organization style. Some color code courses and folders. Some like tape flags. Some keep everything in a PDA. Figure out your style and stay organized. Put events, exams, study groups--everything--on your calendar. Don't forget to organize your bills and track your income & expenses so that next tax season everything is ready.

GET REC'd 2009! Be ready to celebrate the two "hottest" days in January - GET REC'd 2009 will hit campus from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 22-23 at the UNL Campus Rec Center. Over 90 vendors will be on hand to showcase their wares and products for UNL students, faculty and staff. The Food Zone is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Thousands of dollars in prizes will be available through contests and drawings. The event is free for all attendees. For a complete listing of exhibitors, entertainment, and more, visit the official GET REC'd Web site. http://www.getrecd.com

Graduate/Professional Schools. Career Services has several programs scheduled for Spring Semester 2009. All Programs will be held in the Nebraska Union (Room Posted) at 6:00 p.m.
Monday, February 2 Preparing for the GRE
Tuesday, February 3 Preparing for the LSAT
Wednesday, February 4 Preparing for Health-related Entrance Exams
Thursday, February 5 Preparing for Interviews for Graduate/Professional School Program
All programs will last approximately an hour, and door prizes will be given at each session. At the end of the week, a drawing for a free Kaplan course will take place.

Some of you have considered a Study Abroad experience, but are not sure how to go about it or whether it is right for you. This is a great way for you to get more information in a non-threatening environment. Attend Next Steps to Study Abroad. Next Steps to UNL Study Abroad sessions are held at noon on Tuesdays, 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, and at 4 p.m. on Fridays every week at the office of International Affairs. This is a great start to finding out about UNL Study Abroad opportunities. The Study Abroad Fair will also be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Nebraska Union.

The US Census will provide jobs this spring. Find out more by contacting Career Services student job listings: http://www.unl.edu/careers/ or the Census jobs website: http://2010.census.gov/2010censusjobs/
