Dr. Jessica Jonson joined UNL in 1999 as University Assessment Coordinator. Her title was changed in 2007 to Director of Institutional Assessment to better represent her growing responsibilities.

Dr. Jonson has assisted the institution in establishing processes and infrastructures for institutional-, college-, and department-level outcomes assessment, addressing regional accreditation expectations for outcomes assessment, and coordinating UNL's participation in several national assessment initiatives. Dr. Jonson has published manuscripts and presented at national conferences on involving faculty in assessment, infrastructures for supporting the assessment process, and using learning outcomes to reform general education.

Dr. Jonson is a native Nebraskan who earned her BA in psychology at UNL in 1990. She then returned to UNL after serving as systems engineer at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in Plano, TX to complete an M.A. (1995) and Ph.D. (1999) in Educational Psychology.
