Besides being alum, JoAnn has been with the University since August 2002 as the Academic Transfer Coordinator. She plans and implements retention programming for transfer students. In addition, she facilitates the evaluation of transfer credit, builds and maintains strong relationships with faculty, administrators, and external institutions like the Nebraska community college partners.

JoAnn's academic interests include Transfer Student Issues, Transfer Credit Issues, and Transition Issues. She writes a weekly email called the Transfer Connection to assist new transfer students in their transition to UNL.

JoAnn received her BA in Psychology and her MA in Educational Psychology from UNL.

She has worked with military students, Community College of the Air Force, and worked for a community college. Having moved several times as an Air Force wife, she understands the work involved in any transition.
