OUS says farewell to Dr. Jeremy Penn, Program Assessment Coordinator
Program Assessment Coordinator, Dr. Jeremy Penn, will be leaving UNL to become Director of Assessment at Oklahoma State University (OSU). Dr. Penn joined Office of Undergraduate Studies in January 2007 and was instrumental in coordinating the implementation of the PEARL assessment reporting system at UNL In his new role Dr. Penn will coordinate assessment activities at OSU and ensures that the University complies with the assessment requirements of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. Our office appreciates Dr. Penn's contribution to enhancing the assessment process at UNL and wishes him the very best in his new position.
NU-PATHS
The NU-PATHS program has had another successful year. We have four students matriculating to UNMC this fall, two in dentistry, one in dental hygiene and one in medicine. We also had a successful recruitment and will have seven new students entering the program this fall including three in the college of medicine and two each in the college of pharmacy and dentistry. Two of the new NU-PATHS students were also apart of the Health Science Scholarship, which is a one-year scholarship program for incoming freshmen who are interested in the health-science professions. We will also have eight new Health Science Scholars for this fall as well, who will hopefully be applying to NU-PATHS next spring.
