National Scholarship Update
The fall scholarship application season is over and twenty-two UNL students have applied for Fulbright, Rhodes, and Marshall scholarships this year. We are proud of all the students who completed these applications, which all require a considerable amount of work , including self-reflection about career goals and future plans. A special thank you to committed faculty who write and fine tune letters of recommendation, read applications, and make suggestions for revisions. Faculty are key components in the scholarship process. Also, kudos to the Office of International Affairs and Bob Stoddard for managing eighteen Fulbright applications, with a special thank you to Darlene Esser, who every year navigates the ever-changing Fulbright application procedure and makes sure that those Fulbrights are sent to New York on time!
We are entering the next "season" of scholarship application. The Goldwater, Udall, and Truman campus application deadlines are all November 15. For those students interested in the Jack Kent Cooke award, the national deadline has been moved to March 15, and so the campus deadline has also moved accordingly to January 15. If you know of students who might be competitive for these awards, please tell them to contact Laura Damuth in the Office of Undergraduate Studies (Ldamuth1@unl.edu). Scholarship Website
