Transfer Credit Update
I hope your semester if off to a great start. Here is an update of the transfer credit evaluation of courses from area community colleges.
A review of most transfer courses from Nebraska Community Colleges and their equivalent courses at UNL is complete thanks to faculty reviewers. Updates, course changes and new courses are continually updated.
To assist in recruiting transfer students from outside Nebraska, courses from Iowa Western Community College are being updated and courses from Western Iowa Technical Community College are currently being added. Faculty reviewers in the appropriate subject area evaluate courses using course descriptions and course outlines or syllabi. Decisions are based on the comparability of the nature, content and level of the transfer course to the courses taught at University of Nebraska–Lincoln. These reviewers determine which courses have direct equivalents at UNL and which may transfer as electives. These decisions are then entered into the Degree Audit Reporting System (DARWin).
When students transferring credit submit their transcripts, DARWin recognizes the courses which have been evaluated and displays how those transfer courses apply to the student's degree. Transfer courses may not fulfill Integrated Studies (IS) courses or residency requirements. In addition, there is a limit of 66 semester credits or 98 quarter credits that may be applied from a two-year college to a baccalaureate degree at UNL.
