Jason Kautz
Jason Kautz is an Associate Professor of Practice and the Coordinator of General Chemistry for the Chemistry Department at UNL. While at UNL, he has received several teaching awards including the ASUN Student Government Outstanding Educator Award, Large Classroom (2006-2007) and the College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Teaching Award (2009). Professor Kautz supervises an undergraduate research lab where several students are working on the synthesis and characterization of novel organolanthanide complexes. Furthermore, as the Coordinator of General Chemistry, Dr. Kautz administers the General Chemistry program, works closely with the Office of Admissions in recruiting drives, hosts the annual Chemistry Day at UNL and frequently travels to rural communities across Nebraska to discuss science with both high school and middle school students, parents and teachers.
