
Welcome to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Philosophy Department. We have a graduate program, offering both an MA and a PhD, and an undergraduate program, offering a BA in Philosophy. The department currently has sixteen faculty members and approximately 25 graduate students in residence. The research and teaching interests of the faculty are broad and span all the major subject areas of philosophy and many of the important specialties. We offer courses in metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, philosophy of mind, history of philosophy, logic, aesthetics, philosophy of language, philosophy of law, philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of science, philosophy of the social sciences, and social and political philosophy. The department regularly brings in colloquium speakers and there is also a regular graduate student colloquium. The Philosophy Department is a part of the College of Arts and Sciences.
