The beginnings of Greek philosophy: the pre-Socratics and the systems of Plato and Aristotle with emphasis on historical connections and the critical interpretations of texts.

Frequency: Philosophy 231 is usually offered once each year, typically in the fall.

Achievement-Centered Education (ACE): Philosophy 231 fulfills Student Learning Outcome 5.

Comprehensive Education Program: Philosophy 231 meets the Historical studies ES requirement, and also meets the Humanities ES requirement. (Remember that you can use it to satisfy only one of those requirements.) It is also an IS course.
