An introduction to some main problems, and some central concepts, of metaphysics. Attention will focus on the nature of being and existence, and on various questions concerning the relations between different kinds of entities: minds and bodies, causes and effects, universals and particulars, etc.
Prerequisite: All 300-level philosophy courses have a prerequisite of 3 hours of philosophy, or permission of the instructor.
Frequency: Philosophy 302 is usually offered in the fall or in the spring semester.
Achievement-Centered Education (ACE): Philosophy 302 fulfills Student Learning Outcome 5.
Comprehensive Education Program: Philosophy 302 meets the Humanities ES requirement, and is also an IS course.
