This course deals with the development of 20th century philosophy in the English speaking world. Some of the major issues commonly considered in this course are: realism, skepticism, reference, and representation. Some of the major figures studied include Frege, Moore, Russell, Wittgenstein, Lewis, and Ryle. The course deals with developments in each of the major fields of philosophy, including ethics.
Prerequisite: All 300-level philosophy courses have a prerequisite of 3 hours of philosophy, or permission of the instructor.
