Menno Fast completely changed students' experiences of introductory physics when he came to UNL in 1968. Menno was the first full-time demonstration lecture manager in the history of the Physics Department. His diligent service, caring, and helpful attitude transformed the lecture demonstrations used by the UNL physics faculty to teach the large introductory physics classes. Thousands of students in introductory physics courses benefited from his outstanding service during the time he worked for the department faculty. The Department of Physics and Astronomy has established the Menno Fast Memorial Fund that serves as a reminder of Menno's life and work and will enable the department to provide lecture demonstration equipment.
