The Great Plains Art Museum and the offices of the Center for Great Plains Studies are housed in 1155 Q St, Hewit Place, on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's City Campus. (See full campus map)
Off-street parking is available at Que Place Parking Garage, next to Hewit Place. The garage entrance is at the northeast corner of 11th and Q streets.
The Great Plains Art Museum offers FREE tours for any age groups.
Every Saturday the Museum hosts a free guided tour at 1:30 p.m. No reservations required, but please check out website for updates on any last-minute cancellations or to check if galleries are closed for exhibition installation.
Guided tours can connect the exhibition with themes or content that your students/group may be interested in or provide a general overview of artwork on view. Please note that GPAM can only accommodate groups with a maximum of 30-40 attendees (including educators and chaperones).
Groups are welcome to visit the museum and tour at their own pace any time. However, even if planning a self-guided tour, we request that you let us know in advance by filling out the tour form so we can ensure galleries are open and no conflicting events are happening. Please note galleries may be closed for tours when public lectures take place.
Rural school districts are encouraged to apply for “School Bus for the Arts Grants” from the Nebraska Arts Council to assist with travel expenses to the museum.
Please fill out the tour request form below to schedule a guided or self-guided tour.
