- Offer concentrated research training in psychology and law to a diverse
group of undergraduates recruited primarily in the Midwest, but also
from across the United States.- Prepare students for graduate program in scientific psychology and careers in academic and applied settings
- Direct and hands-on experience in all phases of psychology research
- Promote awareness of research opportunities to diverse group of promising
students early in their undergraduate years so they can prepare for
graduate programs. - Increase the interests of psychology and law researchers in minority issues
and concerns.- Build on the diverse backgrounds and life experiences of REU students to broaden understanding of cross-cultural issues.
- Increase the pool of under-represented minorities in the profession of
scientific psychology and law by improving the skills needed to successfully
complete graduate school.
