Rick Bevin's received the UNL Chapter of Sigma Xi's 2009 Outstanding Scientist Award
Rick Bevins, professor, Department of Psychology, received the Outstanding Scienctist Award for international recognition as a leader in research excellence bridging the areas of psychology, psychopharmacology, behavioral neuroscience and immunology.

Deb Hope elected ABCT President for 2010-2011
Deb Hope for has been elected President of the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) for the 2010-2011 term. ABCT is the leading professional association for empirically-based mental health researchers and providers, primarily psychologists. This is a tremendous honor for Deb, and we are very pleased that she's a member of our department.

UNL Alumnus serving as Associate Director for the White House Office of Public Engagement
David Washington, a clinical-law/psychology graduate of the UNL psychology department is currently the Associate Director for the White House Office of Public Engagement. He will lead the Office of Public Engagement's "public-private partnerships" efforts.

Cal Garbin received the University's Outstanding Teaching and Instructional Creativity Award (OTICA)
Cal Garbin, professor, Department of Psychology, received the 2009 University's Outstanding Teaching and Instructional Creativity Award (OTICA). This university-wide award recognizes recognize faculty whose research and teaching have made an impact on students, the university and the state.
