Department of Psychology

Diversity Committee Recruitment

Minority Group and Special Circumstance Students

The Psychology Department is committed to recruiting a diverse graduate student body. Students of minority racial backgrounds, students who are physically challenged, or students who view their circumstances as atypically challenged are especially encouraged to apply to this department. The Department of Psychology has placed special emphasis upon the recruitment of minority and atypical circumstance students into our doctoral programs for several years, and we are very much interested in continuing this tradition.

We may make special considerations for admissions of promising minority and special circumstance students who do not have sufficient undergraduate psychology backgrounds for admission with full graduate standing. Such a student would take a mixture of advanced undergraduate and appropriate graduate courses during the first year in the program, and would be expected to attain the status of a second-year graduate student after two years in our program.

Minority and special circumstance applicants should return the recruiting information sheet and will be contacted by the Diversity Recruitment Coordinator. You may fill in the requested information and e-mail the form to: jlongwell1@unl.edu or mail it to the department address listed below.
