Emily is a third-year graduate student in the clinical psychology program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her research interests lie in the field of interpersonal and family functioning, child maltreatment and emotion regulation processes. In addition, she recently collected data regarding the role of the internet in the therapeutic relationship and client privacy. Clinically, she is interested in working with children and families who have experienced or are at risk for child maltreatment. Currently, Emily is the mental health extern at Lincoln Action Program and Headstart working with children and families enrolled in the Headstart program.
Emily received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from UNL in May 2006. As an undergraduate, she worked in the Family Violence and Injury Lab as the head SPAFF coder to the Newlywed Project. In addition, she worked with Dr. DiLillo on completing a senior thesis examining the change in affect during marital conflict for those who had or had not experienced child maltreatment. Also as an undergraduate, Emily worked as a teaching assistant for a Research Methods course.
