Emily is a fifth year graduate student in clinical psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is currently on internship at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. Her research and clinical interests lie in the field of child maltreatment. Emily is the recipient of a F31 dissertation grant investigating the efficacy of treatments for victims of childhood sexual abuse.

Emily received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach in 2002 where she was awarded psychology student of the year. She then received a Master’s degree in Psychology from San Diego State University (SDSU) in 2004. Her area of research at SDSU was in the field of child maltreatment. Her master’s thesis investigated how levels of family instability were related to current child functioning in a sample of maltreated children. She also worked on a project called geocoding, which assessed the usefulness of this software in a sample of maltreated children.
