Kate Walsh

Kate is a fourth-year graduate student in the clinical psychology program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her research interests lie in the domains of sexual victimization and emotion regulation. Her dissertation project involves a laboratory investigation of the emotional correlates of sexual risk recognition. At UNL she also has been a research assistant on two faculty projects: one examined child maltreatment and interpersonal functioning among newlywed couples and the other evaluated risk for sexual assault among prisoners. She also has instructed two undergraduate psychology courses (Abnormal Psychology and Introduction to Clinical Psychology).

Kate received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University where she worked on several research projects related to interpersonal violence, trauma, and PTSD. She also completed an honors thesis examining resiliency factors in the relationship between childhood sexual abuse and adulthood sexual revictimization. Prior to coming to UNL, she spent two years as a research assistant at the National Center for PTSD where she assisted with research focused on trauma, PTSD, and attentional processes.
