Sarah is a fourth-year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Training Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her clinical interests are in child psychopathology and pervasive developmental disorders while her research interests lie broadly in the field of child maltreatment and family violence. She is specifically interested in both the short- and long-term effects of child maltreatment and exposure to domestic violence on children and adults. She is currently the recipient of a National Institute of Child Health and Human Development NRSA F31 Pre-doctoral Fellowship, which is funding her dissertation research examining social support as a moderator between child maltreatment and subsequent adult psychopathology.
Sarah received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arizona in 2004. As an undergraduate, she worked as a research assistant aiding in the coding of grooming behaviors of civilly committed sex offenders. Following graduation, she spent a year involved in research investigating cultural variations in self-talk among athletes. She also assisted in studies examining stereotype threat and its relation to variance in female mathematical performance.
