Continuing Education
The Department of Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education (CE) for psychologists. The Department of Psychology maintains responsibility for this program and its content. The target audience for all sessions of the Symposium includes psychologists, counselors, social scientists, educators, and other parties interested in the topics of emotion, motivation, legal decision making, and policy, presented at an intermediate to advanced level of knowledge and expertise. For this Symposium, the Department of Psychology offers 6 separate sessions for which participants can earn CE credit hours. There are 3 sessions on Monday, April 14th, and 3 sessions on Tuesday, April 15th. Each session on Monday and Tuesday will be 50 minutes long followed by 20-25 minutes for discussion. The overall goal of this Symposium is for participants to gain an understanding of the current theories and research on the role of emotion in policy formulation and legal decision-making. Each session includes specific learning objectives, which can be found within the evaluation forms, which will be provided at the time of the Symposium.
The cost for CE credits for each session is $25. Individuals may, however, wish to register for the entire symposium and attend all sessions (6 hours of CE) at the cost of $150. Individuals interested in receiving CE credits may register for individual sessions or the entire symposium by contacting Jodi Carter at (402) 472-2351 (jcarter2@unl.edu) or Jamie Longwell at (402) 472-3229 (jlongwell1@unl.edu). CE registration is also available the days of the Symposium, April 14-15th, 2008 in the City Campus Union from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. No refunds will be available. A certificate of attendance for CE credits for each session will be provided to participants at the end of each session. Participants must attend the entire session for which CE credits are being awarded. Please make checks payable to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Please contact Jodi Carter at (402) 472-2351 or Jamie Longwell at (402) 472-3229 for any questions regarding CE credits.
