The Schedule of Classes is published by the Office of Registration and Records.

Acceptance of registration by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and admission to any educational program of the University does not constitute a contract or warranty that the University will continue indefinitely to offer the program in which a student is enrolled. The University expressly reserves the right to change, phase out, or discontinue any major, minor, or program.

The listing of all courses contained in this Schedule of Classes and on the www version is by way of announcement only and is not to be regarded as offers of contract, inasmuch as the University of Nebraska-Lincoln expressly reserves the right to: 1) Add or delete courses from its offerings and to change times, instructors, or locations; 2) Change academic calendars without notice; 3) Cancel any course for insufficient registrations; 4) Phase out any program; 5) Revise or change rules, charges, fees, schedules, courses, requirements for degrees, and any other regulation affecting students including, but not limited to, evaluation standards, whenever considered necessary or desirable.

The dates listed for a deadline assume 5:00 p.m. unless noted otherwise. The deadline dates apply to all materials, payments, or application forms sent to the University by U.S. mail or campus mail. If mailing materials, payments, or forms, please allow sufficient time for the University to receive the materials by the deadline. The University cannot be responsible for the failure of the U.S. Postal Service to deliver mail in adequate time to meet established deadlines.

A registration by a student signifies an agreement to comply with all regulations of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. By completing the registration process, you will incur a debt to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for tuition and any other fees and charges that may apply to your account. Even if you plan to have a third party pay your bills at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (such as your parents or financial aid source), you will still be held ultimately responsible if timely payment is not received from the third party.

Notice of FERPA Rights: Student Records and Privacy

A full copy of Regents Policy 5.10 "Student Information and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA)" is available at www.nebraska.edu in the section containing Regents Policies.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords you certain rights with respect to your education records. They are:

  1. The right to inspect and review your education records within 45 days of the day the University receives a request for access. You should submit to the Director of Registration and Records, dean, head of the academic department, or other appropriate official, written requests that identify the record(s) you wish to inspect. The University official will make arrangements for access and notify the student of the time and place where the records may be inspected. If the records are not maintained by the University official to whom the request was submitted, that official shall advise you of the correct official to whom the request should be addressed.

  2. The right to request the amendment ofyour educational records that you believe are inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise in violation of your privacy right under FERPA. If you wish to ask the University to amend a record, you should write the University official responsible for the record, clearly identify the part of the record you want changed, and specify why it should be changed. If the University decides not to amend the record as requested, the University will notify you of the decision in writing and advise you of your right to a hearing regarding the request for amendment. Additional information regarding the hearing procedures will be provided to you when notified of the right to a hearing.

  3. The right to provide written consent before the University discloses personally identifiable information from your education records, except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent. One exception which permits disclosure without consent is disclosure to school officials with legitimate educational interests. A school official is a person employed by the University in an administrative, supervisory, academic or research, or support staff position (including University law enforcement unit personnel and health staff); a person or company with whom the University has contracted (including attorneys, auditors, or collection agents); employment of degree verfication agencies such as the National Student Clearinghouse; a member of the Board of Regents; or those serving on official committees or similar bodies charged to carry out tasks on behalf of the University of Nebraska. A school official has a legitimate educational interest if the official needs to review an education record in order to fulfill his or her professional responsibilities for the University. Note that a school official located at one University of Nebraska campus may have a legitimate educational interest in the educational records and personally identifiable information maintained at another University of Nebraska campus. In addition, your record may be disclosed to your parent(s) upon request, if your parent(s) demonstrate(s) that you are your parent(s)' dependent for income tax purposes. The University may disclose education records without your consent upon the request of officials of other schools where you seek enrollment of intend to enroll.

  4. The right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures by the University to comply with the requirements of FERPA.
