Commencement Ceremony
Commencement is Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. in the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

Information Found on this Page:
You must be at the Devaney Center Indoor Track no later than 8:30 a.m. Leave your personal items and valuables with your guests. The processional begins promptly at 9:20 a.m., and you must be in your regalia and in proper order before that time. Late arrivals will be placed in line by the Marshals. The ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. and will conclude by noon.
Commencement Participation
Commencement is not required in order to graduate but is highly encouraged. Participation means attending the Commencement ceremony in academic costume, marching in the processional and recessional, and going forward to the stage to receive your diploma from your Dean. Students who participate in the Commencement ceremony are expected to be present throughout the entire ceremony. You will not be allowed to receive your diploma and depart before the recessional.
Registration and Records will mail information regarding instructions for the commencement ceremony to all degree candidates approximately four (4) weeks prior to graduation. You must advise us of your plans concerning participation so that seating and diploma arrangements can be made. For more information, please contact Graduation Services, 109 Canfield Administration Building, (402) 472-3636.
Graduates with Disabilities
Graduates with disabilities are very welcome and should notify us several days before Commencement to allow time to establish reasonable accomodations. Please report any special needs to Dr. Patrice Berger, Head Marshal, at 472-5425. Dr. Berger will advise you regarding procedures to be followed. Also please note your need for accomodations on your yellow Commencement Attendance form. Disabled Parking is available at the northeast corner of the Devaney Sports Center property on both sides of Ollis Avenue.
Admission to Commencement/Seating for Guests with Disabilities
Your family and friends are cordially invited to attend the ceremony and may sit anyplace other than the area on the main floor reserved for the graduates, faculty, and dignitaries. Tickets are not required. Any guest with disabilities or who uses a wheelchair, accompanied by one person, may sit in a designated area on the main floor or in section B-11. Aisle seats are available for guests who are ambulatory restricted. Please direct your guests with disabilities to see an usher for seating assistance.
Parking
Parking for the ceremony is available in the Innovation Campus grounds (on the former State Fair grounds) and the Sports Center lots without charge. All entrances to Innovation Campus will be open; please use the 27th Street gate when arriving and departing. Please be aware that the 17th Street railroad crossing near the Devaney Center is permanently closed. Please allow plenty of time to park and arrive at the staging.
