Late Registration, August 25 - September 2
During Late Registration, initial registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, but students will be charged a $25.00 late registration fee. This fee will appear on your first billing for tuition. You are encouraged to register for classes during Priority Registration or Open Registration for the best course selection and to avoid the extra expense involved in Late Registration.
The Schedule of Classes contains instructions on how to use eNRoll, and the call numbers for all class offerings. You should retain this publication throughout the semester since it contains important information on registration deadlines, academic policies, and tuition and fees information. The printed copy of the Schedule of Classes includes off-campus "distance education" (Type "F" and "S") courses. The complete Schedule of Classes, including "Distance Education" courses and recent corrections and/or additions, is also available at unlsched.unl.edu/nusched/index.jsp.
MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT FOR ADVISING. See your adviser for an appointment. Use the sheet near your adviser's office door.
CHOOSE YOUR COURSES. Work out a preliminary schedule before seeing your adviser. Use the worksheet provided in this printed Schedule of Classes. Be sure to include any lab, quiz, and/or recitation required in addition to a lecture section. It is also a good idea to make note of alternate courses in case your first choice is closed. Note any course you plan to take on a "Pass/No" Pass basis. When using eNRoll, you must first register for the class and then change the grading option for the course in a separate transaction.
UNPUBLISHED CALL NUMBERS. Obtain any call numbers that are not published in the Schedule of Classes from the academic department office. These call numbers are noted as **** (four asterisks) in the Schedule of Classes.
IMPORTANT. Do not register for any course in which you currently have a grade of "I" (Incomplete).
SEE YOUR ADVISER. See your adviser to have your program approved and to discuss your class selections.
College of Engineering students must have their adviser's approval for all course selections and changes to their schedule. Students appearing in courses that do not correspond to those courses approved, will be asked to drop the class and may have their ability to register for future semesters blocked.
Graduate Studies, College of Architecture, and College of Nursing students are all required to have their adviser's approval of all class registrations.
REVIEW THE eNRoll INSTRUCTIONS. Make sure you have all of the information you need to use eNRoll.
PIN NUMBER. If you are a new, first-time undergraduate, you will receive your PIN through the Admissions Office. If you have lost or forgotten your PIN, access the self service option on the WAM! login page by following the "Need Your PIN?" link. You may also obtain your PIN in person at Registration and Records, 107 Canfield Administration Building. Be sure to bring a photo ID to verify your identity.
ACCESS eNRoll TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES. The first date and time on which you can access eNRoll is listed at the beginning of these directions. After your initial registration, you can adjust your schedule by dropping and adding classes whenever eNRoll is available. However, there are certain deadlines after which you cannot add or drop classes. Be sure to review the Calendar in this Schedule of Classes.
It is to your advantage to register for classes early and to pay your consolidated statement by the payment deadline. You will have access to a wider selection of classes and you can avoid standing in line.
The Colleges of Architecture, Business Administration, Engineering, Fine and Performing Arts, and Journalism and Mass Communications restrict access into their courses. See the following sections of the Schedule of Classes for additional information: Eligibility for College of Architecture Courses; Eligibility for College of Business Administration Courses; Eligibility for College of Engineering Courses; Eligibility for the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts Courses; Eligibility for College of Journalism and Mass Communication Courses.
BE SURE THE RECORDS OFFICE HAS YOUR CORRECT MAILING ADDRESS. Unless we have a current address, important information may be misdirected. You can update your address by calling, (402) 472-3635 during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday), or in person at Registration and Records, 107 Canfield Administration Building. Lincoln/local/commuting addresses will be used as the mailing address for students during the semester in progress. Permanent/home addresses will be used when classes are not in session. A photo ID is required to process a change of address in person at 107 ADMS.
E-MAIL ADDRESSES. All students are required to register an e-mail address with the University. This e-mail address must be kept current and may be updated through the WAM! system, wam.unl.edu. It will be used for all official purposes and students are advised that they should regularly check their e-mail account for official information and notifications. E-mail addresses are not considered directory information and will never be used for commercial purposes or released outside of the University. A photo ID is required to process an e-mail address change in person at Registration and Records, 107 Canfield Administration Building South.
CANCELLATION OF A REGISTRATION. Once you register for classes, you will remain registered unless you take action to cancel your registration. If you wish to cancel your registration before the semester begins, you can access eNRoll, wam.unl.edu, to drop all your classes. You can also notify Registration and Records either in person, or in writing, 107 Canfield Administration Building South, Lincoln, NE 68588-0416, or by calling (402) 472-3635.
IN ORDER TO CANCEL YOUR REGISTRATION, YOU MUST DO SO BY USING eNRoll, OR BY CONTACTING REGISTRATION AND RECORDS, 107 CANFIELD ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, TO AVOID TUITION CHARGES AND GRADE LIABILITY.
CANCELING A HOUSING CONTRACT OR NOT RECEIVING EXPECTED FINANCIAL AID WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR REGISTRATION FOR CLASSES. YOU MUST TAKE ACTION YOURSELF .
THE UNIVERSITY MAY INITIATE CANCELLATION OF YOUR REGISTRATION IF YOU FAIL TO CLEAR ANY EXISTING "REGISTRATION HOLDS" ON YOUR RECORD, OR IF YOU FAIL TO MAINTAIN GOOD ACADEMIC STANDING.
NOTICE TO STUDENTS ON ACADEMIC PROBATION. If you register for First Semester classes during the priority registration period, you do so at your own risk. If your academic performance in the Second Semester or the Summer Sessions should result in academic dismissal, your First Semester registration/classes will be canceled.
