Nebraska Statewide Arboretum Hires Henrickson

Bob Henrickson has been named assistant director for horticulture programs for the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum. He comes to the job with over 15 years of experience in landscape horticulture, seven as curator of the State Fair Park Arboretum in Lincoln.

"Bob has a tremendous amount of practical knowledge in horticulture and landscape maintenance, which will make him a great resource for our affiliate sites," said Jim Locklear, NSA director. "He also has an extensive knowledge of ornamental landscape plants and is an outstanding communicator, skills that will enable him to provide strong leadership for the GreatPlants(r) Program."

Henrickson grew up in Dodge, Neb., and earned a B.S. degree at UNL.

He is a Nebraska Certified Nurseryman and co-host of a weekly gardening talk show "How's It Growing?" on Lincoln's KZUM radio station (89.3 FM).

Henrickson replaces Todd Morrissey, who left in August to become director of horticulture for the Omaha Botanical Garden.
