Textiles Faculty Receive Grant
A grant from The Limited, Inc., was awarded to Catherine Daly and Annette
Ward from UNL's College of Human Resources and Family Sciences,
Department
of Textiles, Clothing and Design.
Daly and Ward were recognized for their work in Comparison and
Integration
of Software for Content Analysis in Apparel and Textile Studies. The
$1,000 grant was presented at the International Textile and Apparel
Association
annual meeting in Banff, Canada, in August 1996. This grant provides
textile
and apparel faculty an opportunity to enhance their expertise in the area
of international retailing of textiles and apparel.
Pill-Soon Song Elected AIP President
Professor Pill-Soon Song, Dow Chemical Professor of Chemistry, was
recently
elected as the president of the Association Internationale de
Photobiology,
an international union of photobiology, at its congress in Vienna. He
will
serve as the president of the association for four years from Sept. 1,
1996,
to August 2000.
The AIP membership is comprised of national societies of photobiology. As
president of the association, it is Song's responsibility to promote
research
in photobiology around the globe and to organize the 13th International
Congress on Photobiology in San Francisco in the year 2000.
