Jay Galen Saylor, a professor and administrator at the University of Nebraska from 1940 to 1971, died April 27 in Valdosta, Ga. He was 95.
The author of 15 books on secondary education curriculum, Saylor served 19 years a chair of the department of secondary education in Teachers College. He was an advocate of educational tracks for varying interests of students to include both the academic and vocational, a cause he continued to promote after his retirement.
