Grew to Stay on as VC Until Replacement ChosenPriscilla Grew, vice chancellor for research, has agreed to remain in her position until a new vice chancellor is selected from a search process now under way. Grew also will continue as the university's coordinator of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act of 1990 until the new vice chancellor is chosen. She has been vice chancellor for research since 1993. In June she resigned to pursue research and teaching in the emerging study area of interest to her the effects of past climate change on human societies. "I'm delighted that Dr. Grew has agreed to stay on longer than she had originally intended. I appreciate the continuity this will give to the transition," said Richard Edwards, senior vice chancellor for academic affairs. Grew's resignation as vice chancellor for research was to become
effective
Dec. 31. After a candidate is selected for that post, Grew will take
administrative
development leave. In the fall of the year 2000, she will return to the
faculty as professor in the department of geosciences and as professor in
the Conservation and Survey Division of the Institute of Agriculture and
Natural Resources. |
