Cindy Cammack, Carol Lechner Win University Kudos in November

Cindy Cammack and Carol Lechner were recognized with University Kudos Awards at the Nov. 5 meeting of the NU Board of Regents.

Cammack, recruitment/placement coordinator with the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, has been with the university since 1987. She is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies for students until they attend the college. She is responsible for student groups, coordination of recruitment activities with Admissions staff, publications, promotion, student ambassadors, budget, placement and enrollment management.

Her nominator says, "She is a cheerful, upbeat, positive person who continually performs the role of facilitator in whatever role she undertakes. She has a deep interest in people and confidence in their ability to succeed. These attributes are coupled with good judgement, efficient operating style, enthusiasm and drive to go the extra mile to reach objectives."

Lechner, library specialist in Love Library, has been with the university since 1974. She works in the cataloging department, as the manager of the copy cataloging section. She plans, coordinates, evaluates section workflow and procedures, and is responsible for the personnel in the unit.

She directed the conversion of the older cataloging records into machine-readable form and entering them into IRIS, the libraries' automated system. This multi-year project necessitated that library staff from all of the libraries' units be recruited, trained, and motivated to work on the project.

She has received several awards including the Library Staff Excellence Award and the Nebraska Library Association's Paraprofessional of the Year Award.

Her nominator states, "Her ability to organize projects, as well as daily work, has been long recognized. She willingly accepts additional responsibilities and challenges."
