Workshops

We offer UNL student organizations, Greek houses, and residence hall floors the opportunity to co-host a money management workshop or event. These activities can count towards any educational requirements your organization has AND can be included in any program reports or award applications you submit to your national organizations.

Co-Host a Workshop

Workshops are presented by SMMC representatives. Workshops are around 30-minutes and include financial games or fun activities.

What does the Student Money Management Center do for co-hosted workshops?

  • Reserves a workshop location
  • Creates promotional materials, including flyers
  • Helps publicize the workshop with the co-hosting organization

What does the student organization do for co-hosted workshops?

  • Advises SMMC representatives on what financial topics members need information on
  • Helps publicize the workshop through: In-person announcements to organization members, Announcements through mass emails or on organization's website, Creating a Facebook event, Distributing promotional materials

Co-Host an Event

SMMC can work closely with student organizations to develop and execute innovative financial education events.

Some example event ideas include:

  • Large-Scale Interactive Games, such as Quiz Show or Financial Baseball
  • Interesting Financial Speakers - National or Local
  • Panel Discussions with UNL Students and Community Members
  • Financial Boot Camp
  • Financial Movies

The possibilities are endless.

What does the Student Money Management Center do for co-hosted events?

  • Organizes all event activities (Ex. Getting speakers, organizing games, etc.)
  • Reserves an event location
  • Creates promotional materials, including flyers
  • Helps publicize the event with the co-hosting organization

What does the student organization do for co-hosted events?

  • Meets with SMMC representatives to help with event ideas and beginning stages of development (Takes about 30 minutes)
  • Stays in contact with SMMC representatives throughout event development and completes necessary tasks as needed
  • Helps publicize the workshop through: In-person announcements to organization members, Announcements through mass emails or on organization's website, Creating a Facebook event, Distributing promotional materials
