What do SMMC Student Advisory Board members do?
Our volunteers:

Advise SMMC Representatives
Members of our Student Advisory Board advise SMMC representatives on program development activities, make suggestions for program improvements, assist in building awareness of the UNL Student Money Management Center and create opportunities for campus collaborations and partnerships.
Members also have the opportunity to assist with:

Publicity Activities
Help build awareness of the UNL Student Money Management Center -
Financial Education Workshops
Help students build financial knowledge and skills by presenting financial education workshops -
Financial Education Events
Help develop and manage special financial education events -
Special Projects
Such as assisting with creating financial education resources and program research & evaluation
Through all these activities, our members focus on helping students achieve a successful financial life.
What are the requirements to become a member of the SMMC Student Advisory Board?
There are no set requirements for volunteers. You do not need to be a financial guru, but some financial knowledge is helpful. You do need to have a passion for financial literacy.
What is the time commitment?
Our SMMC Student Advisory Board members must:
- Attend at least 1 Student Advisory board meeting each semester
- Complete any other activities that interest them & work with their schedule
