- Increase your knowledge in important financial topics and build your money management skills
- Help you understand how to manage credit and debt
- Most importantly, gain the skills that will help you be financially successful throughout your life

Who administers Money Management Coaching Sessions?
Students can choose to meet with a Peer Money Coach - a fellow UNL student who has completed financial education and mentoring training - or an Accredited Financial Counselor.
What is the difference between a Peer Money Coach & an Accredited Financial Counselor?
Peer Money Coaches are UNL students who enjoy working with people and have a passion for money management. Our peer money coaches go through extensive financial education and mentoring training. Peer money coaches are trained, evaluated, and backed up by our accredited financial counselors.
What if I meet with a Peer Money Coach and I have a problem they cannot help me with?
If students need more in depth financial help than a Peer Money Coach can provide, they will be referred to our Accredited Financial Counselors. If the student is experiencing psychological, behavioral or situational problems, such as family issues or a gambling habit, they will be referred to the appropriate professional.
Where are Money Management Coaching Sessions held?
If you make an appointment, you and your designated SMMC representative will decide when and where your session will be held. Sessions are held at a place convenient to both the student and the SMMC representative. The Student Money Management Center in the City Union, room 237, is available for advising sessions.
