Because of an accreditation mandate, UNL has engaged in the processes of assessing student learning outcomes for several years. However, we are at a critical transition point. If we are going to spend our valuable time and effort assessing educational outcomes, we need those efforts to do more than just satisfy an accreditation mandate. Our outcomes assessment efforts need to contribute to meaningful and useful decisions about our educational programs.
