Welcome to Academic Affairs!

The Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (SVCAA) at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, is responsible for the administration, coordination, and development of all UNL academic activities and functions.  The office provides academic leadership for UNL programs and works in cooperation with the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

The UNL academic deans report directly to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Those deans represent the following: College of Architecture, College of Arts & Sciences, College of Business Administration, College of Education & Human Sciences, College of Engineering, Hixson-Lied College of Fine & Performing Arts, College of Journalism & Mass Communication, the College of Law, and University Libraries.

Other entities coordinated by this office are the Confucius Institute, Extended Education and Outreach, International Affairs, the Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management, Nebraska Educational Television (NET), the Office of Undergraduate Studies (including General Studies), the Public Policy Center, and Summer Sessions.

March 8 - Open Registration for Summer Sessions starts.

March 14 - 21, 2010 - Spring Break (Student break only).

March 29, 2010 - Priority Registration begins.

May 7-8, 2010 - Graduate and Undergraduate Commencement respectively.

May 17 - Pre-session and eight-week sessions begin for summer.

May 31 - Memorial Day - Students & Staff Holiday.

June 7 - First Five Weeks of Summer Sessions begins.

July 4 - Independence Day (Students & Staff holiday on Monday, July 5).

July 12 -Second Five Weeks of Summer Sessions begins.

Aug. 13-14 - Summer Graduate and Undergraduate Commencement respectively.

Monday, Aug. 23 - Fall Semester Begins.
