Building upon the University of Nebraska–Lincoln's tradition of excellence, the office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs engages academic units in  a distributed and iterative strategic planning process.  The Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs coordinates the planning with academic deans and non-academic directors.  Each unit conducts internal planning guided by UNL's Strategic Compass and the University of Nebraska System's Strategic Planning Framework.  

Key Aspects of UNL's Academic Strategic Planning

• Began in AY2004-2005
• Uses institutional sponsored reports and assessments to provide context
• Planning is focused on a college/unit level
• Process is iterative
• Academic plans inform the planning of non-academic units
