MM-SIG was created to make it possible for faculty at the University
of Nebraska-Lincoln to learn from each other about a variety of multimedia
issues.
The special interest group was initiated in November 1994 at a breakfast
which was sponsored by the UN-L Teaching and Learning Center. Over 50 faculty
attended this breakfast and indicated an interest in learning more about
multimedia-related topics.
A growing number of multimedia equipped classrooms are becoming available
for use in various buildings on campus. There are issues to address regarding
how to effectively use these classrooms.
A related issue for this special interest group to consider is the World
Wide Web. The Web is a powerful resource available on this campus yet we
have not even scratched the surface in figuring out how it may be used effectively.
