Alisa Belflower teaches courses on Musical Theatre, singing, and serves as Musical Director, Coach, and/or Director.  She has worked on over 100 musical productions.  Alisa earned a Masters degree and completed doctoral course work at the University of South Carolina.  From Furman University, she holds a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in French.  She was an opera apprentice to Mme Joan Van Praag in Paris, France, where she also studied theatre.

Alisa is the current Governor of Nebraska’s National Association of the Teachers of Singing and is active as a respondent for the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival.  Her recent research has been in contemporary Musical Theatre, which has led to artistic exchanges with award-winning musical theatre composers.  Under her direction, UNL has produced the premieres of five new musicals in the last six years.
