Tools
for success
The academic program
at Kappa Chapter is geared to give every member the
tools she needs to succeed throughout her college
career. To assist our members in their academic
pursuits, Tri Delta offers wireless internet throughout
the house. This technology was installed during the
summer of 2006 and enables new members and class groups
to gather at Tri Delta to study.
The expanded Study
Room features high speed internet connections at the
four in-house computers. The Study Room and the Chapter
Room hold 24 hour quiet hours to provide members a quiet
refuge to study at all times. The chapter has fully
stocked printers and a commercial grade copier to allow
members to meet all of their academic needs in the
safety of their own home.
Academic
Program
The academic
program at Kappa Chapter holds members to the highest
academic standards. Formal study hours are conducted
Sunday through Thursday and are proctored by members on
the Dean’s List. Tri Delta members have a wide range of
academic pursuits and our chapter accommodates these
unique needs. Members are encouraged to study in the
specialty labs located throughout campus. Study groups
are held in the chapter dining room and at Love Library
to best suit the member’s individual needs.
Motivation
Delta A’s is a new
program created to encourage academic excellence in Tri
Delta. Each week members bring one of their papers,
quizzes, or tests with an A grade to the Chapter
meeting. At that time members who have earned an A
throughout the week are entered in to a monthly drawing
for $50. This encourages members to keep up their
academic efforts throughout the semester.
Tri Deltas earning 3.5 GPAs and above enjoy perks
throughout the semester to reward them for their
academic excellence. These treats include Blockbuster
gift cards, Juice Stop smoothies, Jimmy John's
sandwiches, and comfy yoga pants. These members can be
seen wearing their "smarty pants" throughout the halls
of Tri Delta.
Members attaining a 4.0 GPA are the pride of Tri Delta.
These women serve as role models for their sisters.
Their efforts are recognized by the 4.0 pearl that hangs
from their badge.
Scholarship
Kappa Chapter of
Delta Delta Delta is privileged to award the Evelyn
Stotts Kiewit Scholarship every semester. The fund was
established in January of 1963 by Mr. & Mrs. Peter
Kiewit and is awarded through NU Foundations. The
honorees of this scholarship must be enrolled as
Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors at the
University of Nebraska, and members of Kappa Chapter of
Delta Delta Delta Sorority. The scholarship is awarded
to members who demonstrate financial need as determined
by completion of the Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA), show promise in leadership ability,
and have proven academic ability. The amount awarded for
this scholarship is based on the financial needs of the
member. There is no limitation to the number of
scholarships awarded each semester or the number of
times a member may be awarded the scholarship.
