Recruitment is
a fun-filled jam-packed week for us here in Tri Delta.
We have one week to catch up with our sisters, move-in
to our house, and most importantly, meet and recruit a
new member class. We are looking for a group of
outstanding girls that are committed to campus
involvement, academics, philanthropy, and just having
fun. We are very down-to-earth here at Tri Delta. We
encourage every Tri Delta sister to become the best
version of herself.
More importantly,
we are looking forward to hearing the stories of our
potential new members. We want to hear stories of high
school activities, favorite vacations, and plans for
living it up in Lincoln. Everyone has something that
sets them apart from the crowd, and we want to find out
what that is about the potential new members.
Fact
or fiction:
Now lots of rumors seem to circulate about how
sororities find their new sisters. We’d like to bust
those rumors once and for all.
Fiction: If
one girl has a bad impression, a person can get “black
balled” from a house.
Fact: New member selection on our side is a
completely democratic process. No one’s vote counts
anymore than anyone else’s. There is no way one good, or
bad, impression guarantees someone’s fate in Tri Delta.
Fiction: New members don’t really have a say in
the outcome of formal recruitment.
Fact: Recruitment is a mutual selection process;
our new members have to preference Tri Delta in order to
join Tri Delta.
Fiction: Knowing anyone in a certain fraternity
will not get you into a certain sorority.
Fact: Tri
Delta prides itself on being the first nationally
accredited women’s fraternity to earn her charter
without the help of a men’s fraternity.
Fiction: We look out the windows while potential
new members line-up outside during recruitment.
Fact: Our blinds our shut because we are running
around like mad women getting ready for our next party.
