The social
side of Tri Delta shows the advantages of living with 60
of your best friends. There is always someone around to
make late night runs to Target or to order sandwiches
from Jimmy John’s. Tri Deltas know watching Lost is more
fun with a group of people in front of the big screen
than anywhere else. We have fun being quirky with our
sisters!
Throughout the semester we stay busy with Friday
Afternoon Clubs (FACs), date parties, Delta’s Only
events, and dinner exchanges.
FACs: These informal events are spent with a fraternity
after classes on Friday afternoons. It is a great chance
to get to know new people and unwind. FACs are a great
opportunity to hone our mini golf and sand volleyball
skills. Even if we don’t get competitive, we always have
fun playing.
Date Parties: A highlight of being involved in Tri Delta
is the numerous opportunities we have to play dress up!
We have a great time combing thrift stores for date
party gear. We’ve had a blast with Bikers and Babes,
CEOs and Office Pros, Black and White, Saved by the
Bell, Halloween, Toga, and $5 Prom parties. When else
can we dress up like Tinkerbelle?
Deltas Only: Tri Deltas call our girls’ night out, Delta
Only. These are fun events that build our sisterhood
throughout the year. Once a month we get together to
enjoy a seasonal activity with our sisters. We love
pumpkin carving in October and painting flower pots for
senior citizens in the spring. Just goes to show
everything is more fun with your sisters!
Dinner Exchanges: Every Monday Mom Kay gives us
etiquette tips for formal dining, during dinner
exchanges we get to practice these skills. Occasionally
for our formal Monday night dinners we exchange guests
with a fraternity. Half of our ladies go to eat with the
fraternity while the fraternity men come and dine with
us. This is a great way to start off the week while
meeting new people and enjoying a great dinner
conversation.
