Apply to the UCARE Program

 

Students, before applying to the UCARE program, please consider the following:


  1. Make sure that you have time in your academic schedule to work on your UCARE project. Time allotted for UCARE should be equivalent to a 3-credit course, that is, about 6-10 hours per week.

  2. Once accepted into the program, switching UCARE projects/departments/ sponsors is not normally an option.

    Be thoughtful about choosing your UCARE experience; it is usually a two-year commitment. Make sure that it fits your needs and those of your faculty sponsor. If you are in the Honors Program, think about how this research experience might turn into your senior honors thesis.

  3. Find detailed application/HELP on how to fill out the online UCARE application.

Online UCARE Application Submission for the academic year 2011-2012 UCARE

UCARE Year 1 and Year 2 application forms


  • If you are NEW to the UCARE program, choose the application/ UCARE Application Year 1 form.
  • If you plan on RETURNING as a year 2 UCARE participant, choose the application/UCARE Application Year 2 form.
    *Year 2 students must fill out the Year 2 application to re-apply for a second year of UCARE funding.

Students and their sponsors will be notified via email in early April 2011 of UCARE funding decisions for 2011-2012.

  • MORE INFORMATION FOR THE ONLINE UCARE APPLICATION FORM:

      1. Required fields are denoted by an asterisk (*).
      2. The student completes the online application, including the faculty sponsor information. The student will receive a confirmation email.
      3. Once the student submits his/her portion of the application, an email is sent to the faculty sponsor with a web link to complete the faculty portion of the application. application/Frequent faculty questions can be found here.
      4. After the submission of the faculty sponsor portion, the application is sent to the online database for processing by the UCARE office. The faculty will receive a confirmation email.
