Lincoln (Neb.) - Oct. 13, 1999 - John Rupnow, professor of food science and technology at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln, will speak Friday, Oct. 15 at Western Nebraska Community College during the fourth annual Fall Wellness Festival for Seniors.
Rupnow, a member of the NU Speakers Bureau, will deliver "It Must Have Been Something I Ate: Issues in Food Safety" at 10:15 and 11:15 a.m. In his address, he will give an overview of the causes of recent outbreaks of food poisoning, including those caused by E. coli, salmonella and listeria.
Now in its fifth year, the Speakers Bureau provides speakers for civic, community and professional organizations across Nebraska. The bureau's 13 distinguished experts speak on a variety of timely and interesting topics, and tailor their presentations to suit any organization's needs. The service is free.
