SEARCH COMMITTEE FOR IANR VICE CHANCELLOR ANNOUNCED

Lincoln (Neb.) - Sept. 28, 1999 - Thirteen people have been appointed by University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor James Moeser to serve on the search advisory committee to fill a vice presidency and vice chancellorship of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Cynthia Milligan, Dean of the College of Business Administration, will chair the search advisory committee.

Other members of the search advisory committee are Don Beermann, chair of animal science; Pat Crews, professor of textiles, clothing and design; Betty Diaz, undergraduate student, agricultural education; Pat Dussault, professor of chemistry; Roy Frederick, professor of agricultural economics; Keith Glewen, extension educator, Southeast Research and Extension Center; Juan Gonzales, coordinator, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Diversity Recruitment & Retention; Mark Gustafson, president of Ag Builders; Mark Kuzila, director of conservation and survey; Gail Latta, (ex officio), president, Academic Senate; Ron Raikes, state senator and president-elect of Nebraska Ag Builders; Kim Robak, (ex officio) University of Nebraska vice president for External Affairs and Corporation Secretary; and Jim Van Etten, professor of plant pathology.

"I am delighted that such a strong group of trusted and dedicated people have agreed to serve on this most important search committee," Moeser said. "I am pleased that so many of the constituent groups could be represented."

The committee will begin in their search advisory committee role Oct. 13 with its first meeting.

The position will be vacated July 1 with the retirement of Irvin T. Omtvedt, who announced his June 2000 retirement on July 20.
