Lincoln (Neb.) - Aug. 22, 2000 - Mueller Planetarium in the University of Nebraska State Museum has announced its schedule of laser shows through Nov. 19.
Laser Fantasy rock shows will be presented on Friday and Saturday nights. In the spirit of this election year, the schedule includes a Nov. 17 show that will be determined by a vote of Laser Fantasy audiences through the end of September. Laser Visions family shows will be presented on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, in addition to special Halloween shows on Oct. 27-31.
Admission for evening Laser Fantasy shows is $5 for general admission and $4 for college students and seniors (evening shows are not intended for children). Admission for Laser Visions matinee shows is $5 for general admission, $4 for college students with ID and $3 for children 12 and younger. Tickets go on sale in the planetarium lobby one-half hour before showtime. Mueller Planetarium is in Morrill Hall, 14th and U streets.
The schedule for Laser Fantasy rock shows, at 9:30 and 11 p.m. each night: Sept. 8 - "Laser Rock 2000," featuring music by Bush, Blink 182, Santana, the Offspring and others; Sept. 9 - Phish; Sept. 15-16 - "Best of Pink Floyd"; Sept. 22-23 - Metallica; Sept. 29-30 - Santana; Oct. 27-28 - "Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon"; Nov. 3-4 - "'80s Laser," featuring Van Halen, Def Leppard, Guns 'N' Roses, ZZ Top and others; Nov. 10-11 - The Doors; Nov. 17 - show determined by audience vote.

Saturdays and 3:30 p.m. on Sundays, unless otherwise noted: Sept. 9-10
and 16-17 - Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync; Sept. 24 - "Laser Country: Dixie
Chicks"; Oct. 1 - Beatles; Oct. 27 - "Halloween Laser," 4 p.m.; Oct. 28 -
"Halloween Laser," 2 and 3 p.m.; Oct. 29 - "Halloween Laser," 2 and 3:30
p.m.; Oct. 31 - "Halloween Laser," 4 p.m.; Nov. 5 - Backstreet Boys and
'N Sync; Nov. 12 - Fleetwood Mac; Nov. 18 - "Laser Fun 2," featuring pop
and patriotic themes with music by Billy Joel, the Beach Boys, the
Beatles, Neil Diamond and others; Nov. 19 - "Laser County: Dixie Chicks."
