Lincoln (Neb.) - Aug. 31, 2000 - More than 1,600 Big Red fans have already signed up for the Husker Huddle pre-game party when Nebraska takes on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame Sept. 9 in South Bend, Ind.
Coordinated by the Nebraska Alumni Association, the event, which begins at 10:30 a.m. in the College Football Hall of Fame, will feature a tailgate buffet and live entertainment from Lil' Red, the Husker Spirit Squad and the NU Pep Band. Craig Estudillo, voice of the Lincoln Stars, will provide music, and Big Red legend Johnny Rodgers, the most-recent Husker to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The Huddle also will include a special presentation to return the Fighting Irish mascot's hat signed by those who donned the uniform. Estudillo, who won't divulge how he acquired the icon, will present it to Chuck Lenin, director of the Notre Dame Alumni Association.
Advanced reservations are required. Admission, which includes entry
into the College Football Hall of Fame Museum, is $30 for Nebraska Alumni
Association members and $35 for non-members. The deadline for
