Lincoln (Neb.) - Sept. 19, 2000 - Harvey Perlman, interim chancellor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will meet with community organizations and businesses during a visit to Scottsbluff and Gering Thursday, Sept. 21.
Also accompanying the chancellor will be Edna McBreen, interim NU vice president and vice chancellor of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources; Alan Moeller, IANR assistant vice chancellor; Ron Withem, NU associate vice president; and Michelle Waite, UNL assistant to the chancellor for community relations.
A schedule of the day follows:
9:30 a.m. MT Arrive Scottsbluff airport
9:45 a.m. Meet with faculty at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center
10:45 a.m. Visit Gering High School, 1500 "U" St.
11:30 a.m. Media Availability, Gering Civic Center, 1050 "M" St.
Noon Lunch with local business leaders, Gering Civic Center
1:30 p.m. LR 487 hearing at Panhandle Research and Extension Center
3:30 p.m. Depart for Scottsbluff airport.
The chancellor makes periodic visits to Nebraska communities to seek
feedback and learn more about the issues facing citizens across the
state. Additional scheduled trips later this year include Burwell,
O'Neill, Valentine, Columbus, York and Omaha.
