NU TO KICK OFF AMERICA RECYCLES DAY WITH NOV. 4-5 EVENTS

Lincoln (Neb.) - Oct. 18, 2000 - The University of Nebraska-Lincoln will kick off this year's observance of America Recycles Day with two days of events Nov. 4-5.

In conjunction with the Nov. 4 Nebraska-Kansas football game, informational and collection locations will be set up outside Memorial Stadium, with traveling informational and collection vehicles in the parking lots. "Trashasaurus" will be prowling the campus with information and Pepsi products.

Midland Recycling will host a tailgate party beginning at 12:30 p.m. at its 530 W. P St. location. A raffle for two tickets to the Nebraska-Kansas game will be conducted at the party by the Nebraska State Recycling Association, in addition to other giveaways and raffles. On Nov. 5, a special recycling sort for the plastic and cardboard from the game will be done at Midland Recycling's facility at 440 J St. The sorting will be done by students, staff and administrators from UNL, along with Midland personnel and state recycling association members. The official America Recycles Day is Nov. 15.
