MUELLER PLANETARIUM ANNOUNCES NOVEMBER SHOWS

Lincoln (Neb.) - Nov. 1, 2000 - Mueller Planetarium at the University of Nebraska State Museum will present "Just Imagine" as its astronomy show for November and has announced its schedule of laser shows through Nov. 19.

"Just Imagine" will show a sky full of stars and the Earth without the moon. It will take viewers beyond the solar system to see the sun as a different star and show the last days of the universe. Imagination is the key to this cosmic journey, which includes constellations, computer imagery and a beautiful view of the night sky.

The 35-minute show will be presented at 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays Nov. 5 through 26. Tickets at $4 for adults and $3 for students, children and seniors.

The planetarium's laser shows will include matinee presentations of family laser shows and evening laser rock shows that are intended for mature audiences.

Family laser shows included the Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync Nov. 5 at 3:30 p.m.; Fleetwood Mac Nov. 12 at 3:30 p.m.; "Laser Fun 2" Nov. 18 at 3 p.m.; and "Laser Country: Dixie Chicks" Nov. 19 at 3:30 p.m. "Laser Fun 2" features pop and patriotic themes with music by Billy Joel, the Beach Boys, the Beatles, Neil Diamond and others.

Laser rock shows are presented at 9:30 and 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets are $5 for general admission, $4 for college students and seniors. The schedule for November: Nov. 3 - "'80s Laser" with Van Halen, Def Leppard, Guns 'N' Roses, ZZ Top and others; 4 - Led Zeppelin; 10-11 - The Doors; 17 - Santana; 18 - "Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon."
