Lincoln (Neb.) - Oct. 26, 2001 - The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Business Administration will honor its top students from the 2000-01 academic year in an awards ceremony on Nov. 3.
The college will present William Gold Scholarship Keys to the 15 freshman students who achieved the highest academic standing last year, Clifford Hicks Honor Keys to last year's top 20 sophomores and LeRossignol Scholar Awards to the top 43 juniors in 2000-01.
Gold Keys were first awarded in 1925 by William Gold, founder of Gold and Co. Gold operated Gold's Department Store for many years in downtown Lincoln in the building that still bears his name.
Hicks Keys have been awarded for 31 years and are named for Professor Clifford M. Hicks, who served on the college's faculty for 43 years and was chairman of the department of business organization and management from 1950 until his retirement in 1968.
LeRossignol Awards honor James E. LeRossignol, the first dean of the College of Business Administration who served from 1913 to 1941. The LeRossignol Awards are in their 14th year.
